How to choose the right hair care products?

Have you ever wondered how to choose the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair? It can be confusing with so many options out there. But don't worry, we've got some tips to help you make the best choice for your locks.
How to choose a shampoo
When selecting a shampoo, it's important to consider how often you wash your hair. Most people wash their hair every three days, but if you have an oily scalp, you may need to wash more frequently. Be careful not to over-wash, as using harsh shampoos too often can actually thin your hair, and always select a shampoo that's suited to your hair type and frequency of washing.
During the washing process, the alkalinity of the cleaning products "opens" the hair cuticles, and thanks to the foaming agents in the shampoos, the bubbles remove the "dirty" particles from the intercuticular spaces. Sulfates are essential at this stage because they are effective cleaning agents. However, high levels of sulfates and frequent use of strong cleansing shampoos lead to hair thinning. This is because sulfates bind with the keratin in the hair (85% of the hair volume is keratin), which results in damage. To avoid this, look for gentle, sulfate-free options that will cleanse your hair without causing harm - our recommendation is to always choose a product from a professional hair care line.
How to choose a conditioner
After shampooing, it's time to condition.
Conditioners are acidic products, which "close" the cuticles and smooth the hair. In addition, they signal to the scalp that the hair along the length is sufficiently nourished, so that it does not produce more sebum than necessary, i.e. it does not further grease the hair. A good conditioner will help nourish and moisturize your hair, while also smoothing down the cuticle and protecting against breakage. Be sure to choose a conditioner that is pH-balanced and designed for your hair type, whether it's dry, oily, or somewhere in between.
Don't forget about hair masks - they give your hair a much needed extra boost of hydration and repair. Use a mask once a week or as needed to keep your locks looking healthy and beautiful. But remember - using hair masks does not eliminate the need to use a conditioner after washing.
If you're still unsure which products are best for you, don't hesitate to ask your hairstylist for advice. They can recommend specific brands and formulas that will work best for your unique hair type and needs.
